Ritwick Chakraborty is on a roll! While his much-anticipated web series, the second season of ‘Gora’ is set to premiere on June 30, here’s another piece of exciting news for Ritwick’s fans. The seasoned actor has been roped in to play the lead in an upcoming thriller, being directed by
Joydeep Mukherjee who has helmed ‘Gora 2’.
Ishaa Saha has been paired opposite Ritwick in this film set in London.
Titled ‘Aparichito’, the thriller also stars everyone’s favourite
Anirban Chakraborti in an important role. Anirban whose stellar act as the quirky Bengali detective in the recently released 'The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan' won everyone’s heart will play a cop with the London police. Team ‘Aparichito’ will leave for London on July 21 and will shoot for the film there till August 5-6.
Thrillers have always been Joydeep’s forte and the actor-director says this time he is making it as a family drama with lots of thrilling elements. Speaking about the plot, Joydeep tells ETimes, “After an accident a man has lost his memory. However, he feels a conspiracy is brewing around him. His suspicion grows and he can’t even trust his colleagues, friends, and even police officers. Ritwick is playing the protagonist and Anirban will be seen as a police officer. Ishaa will be seen as Mala, who has an important role to play in the narrative.
Apart from this upcoming thriller, Joydeep has another web series in hand, based on Ullash Mullick’s ‘Dugdugi’ and his favourite
Anirban Chakrabarti once again plays the lead role in the series. The cast also includes Sreya Bhattacharya, Rayati Bhattacharya, Lokenath Dey, and Atanu Buman in key roles. “The story follows the life of an average guy who struggles to handle the social pressure and starts to behave weirdly. A series of events changes his life forever,” adds the director. The series will start streaming in August.
