OPSC MO Notification 2025: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has officially released the notification for the recruitment of 5,248 Medical Officers (MO) in Group-A (Junior Branch) of the Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre. This announcement marks a significant opportunity for aspiring medical professionals looking to serve in Odisha’s Health & Family Welfare Department. The application process will open on March 25, 2025, and candidates can submit their online applications until April 24, 2025.
With a total of 5,248 vacancies available, the recruitment aims to address the growing demand for healthcare professionals in the state. The positions are permanent, and successful candidates will be appointed under Level-12 of the Odisha Revised Pay Rules, 2017, following the Seventh Pay Commission guidelines. Along with the basic salary, candidates will also receive various allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha.
Key details about the recruitment
The OPSC MO notification outlines essential details such as age limits, eligibility criteria, and the application process. Candidates wishing to apply must have attained the age of 21 years but must not be older than 32 years as of January 1, 2025. Age relaxations are provided for candidates from reserved categories and certain other groups, including persons with disabilities.
To be eligible, candidates must possess an M.B.B.S. degree or an equivalent qualification from a Medical College recognised by the Medical Council of India. Additionally, a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1961, is mandatory.
The recruitment will be based on a written examination comprising 200 objective-type questions, each carrying one mark. The exam will last for three hours and carry a total of 200 marks. Negative marking is also in place, with 25% of the marks deducted for each incorrect answer. A further weightage of up to 30 marks will be granted to candidates with prior experience working as ad-hoc or contractual Medical Officers under the state government.
