Colby Covington mocks Jon Jones while sitting ringside with Daniel Cormier at WrestleMania 41

Colby Covington didn’t hold back at WrestleMania 41, throwing shade at Jon Jones while praising his former UFC teammate, Daniel Cormier. From jabs about Jones’ controversial drug test history to reinforcing Cormier’s “clean” status, Covington made sure to keep their ongoing rivalry alive, even in a WWE spotlight.

Never one to miss a chance to stir the pot, Colby Covington made waves once again—this time, not inside the Octagon, but at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. The polarizing welterweight contender was in attendance during Night 2 of WWE’s blockbuster event and used the spotlight to throw a not-so-subtle jab at his longtime rival, Jon Jones. Sitting ringside with former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier, Covington took to Instagram to stoke the flames of a feud that’s been simmering for years—with his trademark bravado and another shot at Jones’ legacy.

Colby Covington’s WWE appearance sparks Jon Jones feud reignition

Colby Covington was spotted among a host of UFC names attending the two-night WrestleMania spectacle, though he was met with loud boos from the crowd when shown on the broadcast—a reception he shared with UFC President Dana White. Seated near bantamweight champ Merab Dvalishvili and beside Daniel Cormier, Covington capitalized on the moment to send a message aimed squarely at Jon Jones.
Posting a photo with Cormier on Instagram, Covington wrote:
“Night 2 at @wwe #wrestlemania41 with the Natty [GOAT] @dc_mma! This place is an electric factory.”

While the post may have seemed lighthearted at first glance, the “Natty GOAT” label was a clear shot at Jones, who has long been considered MMA’s greatest but whose legacy remains tainted by failed drug tests. Jones’ second win over Cormier, originally hailed as his defining moment, was later overturned after he tested positive for Turinabol. A previous rematch was scrapped due to clomiphene and letrozole found in his system.
Covington’s praise of Cormier wasn’t just about friendship—it was a moral judgment. By calling him the "Natural Greatest of All Time," he emphasized Cormier’s clean record and suggested that real greatness doesn’t require shortcuts.
This isn’t new ground for Covington, who once shared a college room with Jones. Their friendship soured, and Covington has consistently ridiculed Jones. In a recent Twitch stream, he said:
“There’s nothing to respect about Jon… He’s cheated his whole career… So he’s a terrible person. Of course he’d talk about a saint and someone who’s a law-abiding citizen like myself. Someone that stands for law and order. Someone that stands for the military, the troops, the Trumps. So f*** Jon Jones.”

Colby Covington may not be chasing gold right now, but he’s clearly still chasing headlines—and taking aim at old foes along the way. His WrestleMania appearance proved yet again that he knows how to stay in the spotlight, and for Jon Jones, the reminder of past controversies came with an extra sting: broadcast loud and clear from ringside, with Daniel Cormier—the very man Jones once tried to break—now being celebrated as the true icon by his former rival’s harshest critic.
