Nani recently shared his thoughts on the growing challenge of set leaks in the film industry, especially in the age of social media. The 'Eega' actor addressed the recent incident involving leaked visuals from the highly secretive Mahesh Babu starrer 'SSMB29', directed by SS Rajamouli.
During an interview with Pinkvilla, Nani explained that on massive film sets like Rajamouli's, where thousands of junior artists and crew members are involved, security is taken very seriously. Phones are typically collected before entering the set to prevent any unauthorized recordings. However, Nani also mentioned the difficulty of completely eliminating leaks in today’s digital era. "Phones are usually surrendered and all that. However, what if someone sneaks in a second phone? Like, they surrender one phone but keep another in their pocket. Nowadays, there are so many types of equipment that can be used for such activities,” he said.
He said that even with the best precautions, leaks can still happen. "We can't do anything about it. Even when a director like Rajamouli sir, who puts in so much effort to keep things secret, has to face such issues. We’re bound to come across such leaks," Nani added.

The recent leak from the 'SSMB29' set occurred while the team was shooting in Odisha. Despite strict security measures, someone managed to capture footage of Mahesh Babu in character, reportedly alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. The leaked content quickly went viral across social media platforms, despite efforts by the production team to have it removed. The film, touted as a globe-trotting jungle adventure, is being made on a grand scale and has been shrouded in secrecy, making the leak particularly disappointing for the makers.
On the professional front, Nani is preparing for the release of 'HIT: The Third Case', an action thriller where he plays Arjun Sarkaar, a violent police officer tasked with hunting down a gang of serial killers.
The film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Adil Pala, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, and Maganti Srinath in key roles.
It will be released in multiple languages on May 1, 2025.
