“Being from an army background really helped me as a kid—we got to play all kinds of sports,” said Manish Pandey in a new episode of Train Like a Knight. The experienced top-order batter traced his fitness and discipline back to his childhood.
Known for his agility on the field, the Kolkata T20 stalwart shared his workout mantra: “I keep it simple—two strength sessions and two cardio sessions a week.”
As for food, the 35-year-old keeps it clean and light. “I’m not big on breakfast—usually just eggs and porridge so I can hit the gym within an hour. Lunch is heavier, often with curd for gut health.”
Pandey also emphasized the role of recovery: “Flax seeds and fish oil are my go-to foods for omega-3—they’re key for muscle recovery and overall health.”
