Recently, he added to the excitement by revealing a bit about his role, calling it “politically incorrect,” making fans even more eager to see what’s in store.

In a recent interaction with his China fan club shared on X, Aamir Khan revealed that Sitaare Zameen Par is a thematic sequel to his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. He said the new film goes "ten steps ahead" of the original and focuses on differently-abled people, as well as themes of love, friendship, and life.
Khan revealed that 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' though similar in theme to 'Taare Zameen Par,' is a comedy that will leave audiences laughing. He also shared that his character, Gulshan, is completely opposite to Ram Shankar Nikumbh from the first film.

He stated, "He is not sensitive at all. He is very rude and politically incorrect, and he insults everybody. He fights with his wife, Mother. He is a basketball coach, and he beats up his senior coach. He is a person with a lot of internal problems, and the story is how he changes with the film. How these people in the spectrum teach him what it is to be a good human being."

Aamir confirms 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is inspired by Spanish film 'Champions.'


The 60-year-old actor revealed that the upcoming film is a remake of the Spanish movie 'Champions.' Directed by RS Prasanna, the film also stars Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh in key roles.

Release date and trailer plans


While the official release date is still awaited, according to Pinkvilla, it was reported that 'Sitaare Zameen Par' will hit theaters on June 20, 2025. Additionally, the trailer is expected to be attached to Ajay Devgn's 'Raid,' set for release on May 1, 2025.
“The idea is to communicate the date directly to the cinema-going audience, and Raid 2 is a film that is expected to do well at the box office. This is his plan at the moment, but knowing Aamir, there could be last-minute changes too.” states a report in Pinkvilla.
