The truth is that while the photos may seem hyper-realistic and true, they were made entirely by AI (artificial intelligence). The singer could be seen donning a black latex gown with a pinstripe suit jacket; however, it was revealed that the singer was in reality not present at the event.
When the photos went viral, many even pointed out that the outfit outshone and was better than a lot of other attendees. After a while, though, many on social media platforms pointed out that the images were, in fact, false and created with AI.

The photos made artificially featured the singer in a dramatic and almost fairytale-like ensemble. Katy Perry could be seen donning a beautiful floor-length ball gown with flowery details on it to match last year’s theme, ‘The Garden of Time’.
While the singer has not yet issued any statement about the images this year, she shared a wittily funny post online for last year’s images. She had shared that she “couldn't make it to the MET; had to work.”
The star not being present at this year’s gala was not a major surprise, as she is currently on tour. Katy Perry is currently on tour on her ‘The Lifetimes Tour’, where she is all set to perform in Houston tomorrow, according to a report from The Daily Mail. Her schedule made it almost impossible for her to grace the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala.
Along with Katy Perry, a lot of other celebrities who are usually present at the event ended up missing this year for various reasons. Names like Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Beyoncé Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga were all missing from this year’s roster.
