Despite his success, Mayilsamy passed away on February 19, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and humor. His sons, Anbu and Yuvan, both tried to follow in his footsteps and carve out careers in acting. However, none of their films have been released thus far, and Yuvan has since shifted to television, acting in a popular Tamil serial.

He revealed that despite his father’s legacy of helping others, he was left without support after Mayilsami’s death. "Even my father’s friends didn’t acknowledge me," he said. "I had to fight on my own to secure opportunities in the industry, and now, I have managed to act in a few films." His words touched many, highlighting the struggle and resilience he had to summon to continue his father’s legacy.
