Union minister Smriti Irani lashes out at Jagadish Shettar for abandoning BJP

Union Minister Smriti Irani expressed her disappointment and frustration with former BJP leader Jagadish Shettar, who joined the Congress party after being denied a ticket for the upcoming Karnataka election. Irani accused Shettar of backstabbing the BJP and abandoning the party for his own selfish interests. She questioned his loyalty and integrity, stating that if he could not be true to his own religion, family or ideology, how could he be true to the people of Hubli-Dharwad? Irani also highlighted Shettar's experience and previous position as chief minister, stating that the BJP had helped him earn the respect of the people by putting him in high posts, only to be abandoned for his own greed. She expressed her pain, anguish, and anger towards his defection to the Congress party and questioned his motives. In response to these accusations, Shettar defended his decision and questioned the BJP's motives for denying him a ticket, despite having a ‘clean chit without any black spot’ in his political life. The defection of Shettar has caused controversy and raised questions about loyalty and integrity in Indian politics.
