Watch: 16-feet-long king cobra rescued from Odisha village

A rare 16-feet-long king cobra was rescued from a village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district. The reptile was rescued by forest department officials after they received a distress call from villagers living near the Similipal Tiger Reserve. The reptile has been released deep into the Similipal forest so that it doesn't stray near inhabited areas. King Cobras are the world's longest venomous snake, although they generally avoid confrontation with humans. The snake is found in forest areas across India and south east Asia. It generally feeds on other snakes.
