Former
Bigg Boss Kannadacontestant Rajath Kishen is reportedly arrested once again today (April 16) by the Basaveshwaranagar police for allegedly violating bail conditions in the controversial "machete reels" case. The arrest comes after Rajath reportedly failed to comply with summons and missed two scheduled interrogations.
According to police sources, Rajath was served a notice to appear for questioning today. Upon arrival at the Basaveshwaranagar police station, he was taken into custody and is expected to be presented before a magistrate later in the day.
This marks the second time Rajath has been arrested in connection with the case. A few weeks ago, he and fellow actor Vinay Gowda were booked under the Arms Act after a video surfaced on social media showing the duo holding what appeared to be a machete in an Instagram reel. The video went viral and sparked concerns over the glorification of weapons online.
Both actors were initially arrested and sent to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, later securing release on bail. However, fresh legal trouble began brewing when Rajath failed to cooperate with ongoing investigations, prompting police to act on court directives.
Officials say Vinay Gowda could also face re-arrest, as investigations into the original incident have resumed in full swing.
During earlier questioning, both Rajath and Vinay claimed the weapon used in the video was a fiber replica and not a real machete. Rajath maintained that there was no intention to mislead law enforcement or the public.
However, with no conclusive evidence provided regarding the weapon, the police have intensified their probe. Rajath’s recent noncompliance with bail conditions, combined with the unresolved questions surrounding the reel, led to today’s arrest.
The case, which began as a social media stunt, has now turned into a serious legal matter with potential consequences for both actors. Further developments are expected as police continue their investigation.
