Himanshi Khurana on International Women's Day: Women should be educated and empowered to eradicate patriarchal mindset
Bigg Boss 13 fame and Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana is known for voicing her opinions and on the special occasion of International Women's Day, the actress has expressed happiness over the fact that women have no longer confined themselves.
Talking about it, Himanshi Khurana shared, "I am very happy that women no longer stay in confines and why should they? Women are not made to stay in confines, women are equal human beings they should enjoy all the liberations as men do.
Although not all parts of India get to be as liberated but at the same time I do feel that change is also near."
Himanshi Khurana also shared her views on the portrayal of women in films, TV shows and web series. "Earlier women characters were only used as furniture in films and web, now women-centric films have come into resonance. There are women-driven subjects and women are carrying the entire project on their shoulders with utmost ease. Earlier people used to watch films for the actors but now people even watch the films for actresses."
Giving out a message to the women about not submitting to patriarchy, the 30-year-old opined, "The only way to eradicate patriarchal primitive mindset is that all the women should be educated and empowered. They should be taught that you are not here to get suppressed, instead you are here to make a mark for yourself, you are here to live your life the way you want and not bear anybody else's atrocities."
