If, like many visitors, you're stopping by Singapore for a few days en route to another destination, you might not have a lot of control over the timing of your visit. Lucky, then, that Singapore is a year-round destination.

Just 137 km from the equator, Singapore is perennially hot; daily temperatures average 27°C (81°F), with the thermometer generally peaking during the afternoon. Relative humidity usually exceeds 90 percent, so prepare to get a little sticky. The heaviest rainfall (which brings the mercury down a little) occurs between November and January—this is Singapore's high season.


Business travellers keep occupancy rates up throughout the year, but flights and hotels are generally packed solid around Christmas and Chinese New Year. June to September are the driest months of the year, but also the hottest.
