The Khandeshwar police on Friday booked two people from Pune, after Sarita Patade (45), a housewife, was found charred to death, and her room partner Gauri Kedari (36) sustained severe burn injuries after a fire at their rented flat in Panvel on March 15.

Two men on Saturday stole a gold chain worth Rs40,000 in Medankarwadi near Chakan. The duo entered the senior citizen victim’s house under the pretext of selling mangoes. The victim, Prabhakar Kedari (76) filed a complaint with the Chakan police.
