Delhi Police’s special cell has busted an extortion racket being run from inside Tihar Jail by gangster Amit Shukla.

The court, in determining the punishment, stated that the offense did not meet the criteria for the rarest of rare cases, rejecting the request for a death penalty.

The Jabalpur police in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday sought an undertaking from Zomato customer and local resident Amit Shukla that he would not spread religious hatred. He had tweeted about cancelling an order placed on Zomato as the person assigned to deliver his food was a "non-Hindu". Shukla has also been put under surveillance by the police.
