Samsung is yet to announce the date of its second Unpacked event, but the rumour mill is a buzz with alleged launches. According to online reports, Samsung may unveil its next-generation Galaxy Watch series at the event. This may include Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 in vanilla model along with a Classic and a Pro model.
The upcoming smartwatch has allegedly appeared on the website of US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
A couple of Samsung smartwatches are listed on the website with model numbers - SM-L300, SM-L305, SM-L310, SM-L315, and SM-R861.
The smartwatches with model number SM-L300 and SM-L310 are said to be the Wi-Fi-only versions of Galaxy Watch 7, while the SM-L305 and SM-L315 are likely to be the LTE versions. The SM-R861 on the other hand is expected to be the cheaper variant or the Galaxy Watch FE.
However, these are only speculations and the information must be consumed with a pinch of salt.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 may get an AI-powered health updateA report earlier this month suggested that Samsung may bring a new feature on its Galaxy Watch 7 series that will use artificial intelligence (AI) to detect AFiB (Atrial Fibrillation). The South Korean tech giant has reportedly filed a patent for the same.
The new patent filed by Samsung suggests that it aims to detect AfiB with the help of generative AI. With the help of AI, photoplethysmograph (PPG) signals will be converted into ECG signals. A PPG signal has several components including volumetric changes in arterial blood which is associated with cardiac activity. It measures the amount of light absorbed and reflected by human tissues.
