Donald Trump sends 'strongest-ever message' in Elon Musk’s support with a 'Tesla note’

US President Donald Trump announced that he will purchase a Tesla vehicle as a show of support for Elon Musk, amid calls from some groups to boycott the electric vehicle company. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that Musk was "putting it on the line" to help the country and criticized what he described as an effort by the "Radical Left Lunatics" to harm Tesla through a boycott. He compared the situation to legal and political challenges he has faced, saying, "They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out?"
Trump further wrote, "I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American."

The announcement comes at a time when Tesla has been facing scrutiny and protests, with some critics citing concerns over Musk's political statements and involvement in government-related initiatives. The electric car company’s stocks has experienced fluctuations in recent weeks. On March 9, Tesla’s stock price fell 15% —its biggest single-day drop since September 2020.
In the post, Trump wrote:
To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is “putting it on the line” in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s “baby,” in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for. They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American. Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???
