Qualcomm cancels its miniature Microsoft Windows PC: Read the chipmaker’s message
Qualcomm has reportedly cancelled its Snapdragon Dev Kit, a miniature Windows on Arm PC powered by the US-based chipmaker’s X Series chips. Back in June, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said that the company's Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chips were “coming to all PC form factors”. This announcement comes after months of delays and just as some developers began receiving their units.
According to a report by The Verge, Qualcomm sent messages to customers citing failure to meet “usual standards of excellence.” However, while Qualcomm remains tight-lipped about the specifics for the cancellation, speculation points to a missing HDMI port. It has been reported that the absence of a physical port was possibly due to FCC compliance issues.
