Auston Matthews, one of the most talented and popular players in the NHL, has had a tough time in the current season of the NHL. Auston Matthews’ team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, has recorded a pretty average performance this time. While the team had managed to maintain a winning streak in the last few matches, things changed when the Toronto Maple Leafs lost the match to the Nashville Predators in their last match.
Auston Matthews discussed “Inconsistencies” in the Toronto Maple Leafs but fans are not happy with it
Just after the Toronto Maple Leafs lost their last match to the Nashville Predators, the captain of the team, Auston Matthews spoke about the loss to the media.
Auston Matthews added, “The inconsistencies aren’t ideal, especially at this time of year.”
The star player also spoke about the winning streak the Maple Leafs enjoyed before losing it to the Nashville Predators. He said, “When we have a bad outing, string together a couple of good games, and then have another letdown like this, it’s on us to make sure we’re consistent no matter the situation.”
However, fans are not that happy with the way Auston Matthews is taking the loss.
A fan commented, “Dear AM: Please use less feckless diplomacy. Try this: "The inconsistencies are unacceptable. It must be frustrating for fans to watch. Winners are consistently dominant, and we're not there yet. We've still got some runway left, so we're going to drill that message home"”
Another fan wrote, “He’s struggling so much to score, that he’s gonna average over a goal a game in the playoffs😤”
Last week, the Toronto Maple Leafs started their winning streak after they defeated the Calgary Flames. Previously, the Maple Leafs had lost in 5 of the 7 matches that they had played in before they played against the Calgary Flames.
But Auston Matthews’ performance had impressed everyone; the star player had scored his 26th goal of this season and twice on the powerplay at the match against the Calgary Flames.
It seems like the team managed to maintain in the next two matches, against the Colorado Avalanche and the New York Rangers. With the sudden dip in performance, fans are worried about the Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be spotted playing against the Philadelphia Flyers.
