During the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors suffered a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring while playing against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1. The injury happened in the second quarter, forcing him to leave the game early. Even without him, the Warriors managed to win 99–88, but there are worries about whether Curry will be able to play in the rest of the series.

Golden State Warriors face uncertainty as Stephen Curry's injury sidelines him for at least one week
Stephen Curry's MRI on Wednesday confirmed he has a Grade 1 hamstring strain. This is the first time he's dealt with a muscle strain, which raises questions about how long it will take him to recover. Usually, a Grade 1 strain takes about one to two weeks to heal, depending on how well he responds to rehab. So, Curry will likely sit out at least Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals on Thursday, May 8, and maybe even more games after that.
A Grade 1 hamstring strain is the mildest form of hamstring injury, involving minimal tearing of muscle fibers. This type of strain typically results in slight discomfort, tightness, or a mild ache in the back of the thigh, but usually does not significantly impair strength or range of motion.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr recognized how much Curry's injury affects the team, saying they're getting ready to play without him for now. "We're definitely game-planning for him to not be available on Thursday," Kerr mentioned, highlighting the importance of adjusting and pushing ahead without Curry.
During Game 1, Curry managed to score 13 points in 13 minutes before his injury. Once he was out, the Warriors leaned on Buddy Hield, who netted 24 points, and Jimmy Butler, who added 20. Draymond Green was vital too, with 18 points and solid defense.

Even though Curry had to leave early, the Warriors still managed to win Game 1, showing off their strong roster and determination. But with Curry's status uncertain, they’re feeling the heat as they take on a solid Timberwolves team. Their ability to step up and keep performing without him will be crucial in the next games.
