Bryce Mitchell is known for his absurd comments, and the fighter did not hesitate to make one at the final pre-fight UFC 314 press conference as a response to
Jean Silva’s media day comment and the
audience reaction on the final pre-fight press conference. The war of words between the two fighters had started when the pre-fight press conference for UFC 314 kicked off in March 2025. Since then, it has been an interesting and quite entertaining exchange of words between the American and the Brazilian fighter.
Bryce Mitchell responds to Jean Silva on the brain damage and retirement comment, says, “I was born with brain damage”
Just days before the pre-fight conference for UFC 314 kicked off, Bryce Mitchell, in a podcast interview with Roli Delgado, unapologetically praised Hitler and tagged him as “someone he would go fishing with.” The statement met with a lot of criticism, and even the audience at the presser silenced him whenever the fighter wanted to speak. The entire incident had another add-on in the form of Jean Silva carrying a globe to the conference and igniting a “F*ck Bryce Mitchell” comment. While this was just the press conference, Mitchell days later posted a video of himself on X stating how his sleep has been recently disturbed by external factors. He even accused Silva of being possessed by a legion of demons and being the reason behind Mitchell’s irregular sleep.
While on one of the media day appearances, Silva expressed his disappointment over certain comments made by Mitchell; at another media day appearance, Silva hinted at an early retirement for Mitchell, owing to brain damage to be incurred upon him from the upcoming bout.
“The fight’s going to go: he’s going to try to take me down, I’m going to defend it and I’m going to throw some shots at his head. Might knock him out in the first, in the second. We’ll see, but maybe he’ll need to retire after this because he’s going to have some brain damage after this one.”

A day later, at the final pre-fight press conference, Mitchell decided to get back at Lord with a reply on the lines of, “I was born with brain damage, brother. I’ll be alright.”
It, however, did not end there and continued as Silva stood up to encourage the audience members to bark at Mitchell, “I put a lot of dogs down in my day.” The American fighter stated, “Those dogs that like to come up to the farm. They kill my animals. They come to harm me and my family and come barking. You know what they all got in common? The squeal before they die.”
