Emotional Dustin May shares his feelings on coming back to the mound

Dodgers’ star Dustin May took over the mound almost after two years. Reportedly, he played his first major league game after May 2023. He went on to allow only one run over his five innings and struck out six and walked three against the Atlanta Braves. During a post-game interview, Dustin May got emotional and poured his heart out while talking about his comeback with the Dodgers. He said-
“Even if it would have gone bad, I still would have been having a good time just being back on a big league mound. It literally means the world to me just to be back on the mound because eight months ago I didn’t know if I would be.”

While talking about his comeback, May even recalled his struggles with the life-threatening tear in his esophagus. He said-
“After the esophagus thing happened, it was like a total reset. There’s nothing I can do at the moment, so playing baseball was at the very back of my mind. I was just trying to get healthy, get home, and be able to see the next morning.”

Dustin May feels grateful to be back to the field, and said-
“I was thanking the Lord for the opportunity to be back. There’s been a lot of praying and a lot of devotion to him in the last two years of my life, and I attribute all of my success to him.”
Dustin May spent the previous MLB season struggling with a torn flexor tendon in his arm followed by a life-threatening tear in the esophagus while eating salad at dinner in Arizona as a small piece of lettuce got stuck in his food pipe and later got to know that it had punctured his esophagus.
