Chinese Grand Prix 2025: Start time and Where to watch

The return of the Chinese Grand Prix adds to the excitement, as the race was absent from the calendar between 2020 and 2023 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2025 edition marks only the second race in Shanghai post-COVID, following Max Verstappen’s thrilling victory in 2024.
With the grid now set, the final race is scheduled to begin at 3 pm (local time) and 12:30 pm (IST).
Fans can catch the race live on Sky Sports F1 (UK), ESPN (US), and F1TV in select regions. Live updates will also be available on Formula 1’s official website and social media platforms.

Interesting fact about the Chinese Grand Prix

Situated on the outskirts of Shanghai, the 5.4-kilometre Shanghai International Circuit features a 1.2-kilometre back straight, one of the longest in Formula 1. This stretch allows drivers to hit speeds exceeding 340 km/h (211 mph), making strategic use of the DRS (Drag Reduction System) to gain an edge over their rivals.

Lewis Hamilton’s stronghold

Lewis Hamilton's debut season with Ferrari didn’t begin as planned, with the seven-time world champion securing just one point after a 10th-place finish at the Australian Grand Prix. However, as F1 returns to one of his most successful circuits, all eyes will once again be on him.
He already won the F1 Sprint on Saturday. Starting fifth on the grid for Sunday’s race, Hamilton will look to extend his dominance at the Shanghai International Circuit—a track that has long been a happy hunting ground for the British driver.
