Sulking Kabir to boycott winter session
NEW DELHI: The first crack in UPA's second largest partner, Trinamool Congress, has showed up. The party's Jadavpur MP, Kabir Suman, has decided against attending Parliament's winter session after things turned sour between him and party chief Mamata Banerjee since his sudden outburst against the party in Kolkata on Sunday.
But why is Suman, also a popular Bengali singer, upset? According to party sources, Suman is believed to be unhappy that his arch rival, popular singer Nachiketa, is being given more importance by the TMC chief than him.

Nachiketa is also likely to get an assembly ticket from TMC.
Even earlier, when Suman had to a sing a duet with Nachiketa on stage at the TMC massive victory rally in Kolkata, he had disliked the idea, it is learnt.
While Suman clarified on Monday that he has no complaints against Banerjee and wanted to see her as chief minister of West Bengal, he has not withdrawn any of his allegations against party leaders from his constituency. A sulking Suman has even said that he would not mind "leaving the party or his Lok Sabha membership" since he has been called a "guest" by Banerjee.
On her part, the TMC chief has reacted in a seasoned manner. Banerjee, though said to be angry with Suman for his public outburst, has not initiated any action against the popular singer, who defeated CPM's Sujan Chakravarty from Jadavpur. On the contrary, she has ignored Suman's public allegations about party leaders saying that "he is not a political person and therefore has reacted the way he has and that the party will look into the complaints that he has made".
Suman has complained that the party's local leaders in his constituency have not involved him in the development work that is being done there, including with the MPLADS fund that has come in through him.
