Radhika Apte is set to return to Telugu cinema after a hiatus, securing a significant role in Puri Jagannadh's upcoming pan-India film alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu. The film, currently in pre-production, is slated to begin shooting in June 2025. Apte is also making her directorial debut with the Hindi-Marathi action-fantasy film 'Kotya'.

Actor Radhika Apte in her career has portrayed some powerful performances and unconventional roles in Bollywood and regional cinema and is all set to make a notable return to Telugu films, with an important role in a new Pan-India project directed by Puri Jagannadh.
The upcoming film stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role and also features veteran actress Tabu in a crucial part. Interestingly, as per a Gulte report, Vijay Sethupathi will be paired opposite Radhika Apte, while Tabu will play a different significant role.
Currently, the film is in its pre-production phase, with casting and other preparations underway. The shoot is expected to commence in June 2025. The makers are yet to officially announce the full cast and crew.

Comeback after years
After gaining recognition in Telugu with movies like 'Dhoni' and 'Legend', she took a break from the South Indian film industry. Now, she is set to make a strong comeback.
Radhika Apte’s return to Telugu cinema is highly anticipated, given her impressive body of work across multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, and Bengali. She has earned critical acclaim for her roles in films like 'Pad Man', 'Andhadhun', 'Kabali', and the Netflix series 'Sacred Games'.

Making debut behind the camera
Apart from acting, Radhika will also be directing her upcoming Hindi-Marathi action-fantasy film Kotya marking her feature film directorial debut.
As per a Variety report, the film is about a young migrant sugarcane cutter who gains superpowers after a forced medical procedure and uses them to free her family from debt.
Last year, Radhika Apte embraced motherhood, welcoming her first child, a baby girl, with her husband Benedict Taylor. Though the pregnancy was planned, Radhika during an interview with Vogue described it as a surprising and challenging journey. She revealed that both she and Benedict were initially unsure about having children, but curiosity led them to embrace parenthood when the time came.
