Ace comedian Senthil will be playing the lead — for the first time in his long and memorable career — in Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu director
Suresh Sangaiah’s third film. The untitled film will be a rural satire, like the director’s acclaimed debut.
“Senthil will be playing a life-term convict who returns to his village after serving his sentence in prison. His acting talent hasn’t been utilised well by the industry after his prime, and given that he hasn’t played a full-length lead role yet, we felt this character would suit him.
We hope this would be a landmark film in his career,” says
Sameer Bharat Ram, who is producing this film.
Sameer says that Senthil was surprised when they approached him for this role. “But once he listened to the script, he loved it and agreed immediately,” he informs. Senthil will not have a female lead in this movie.
The team is planning to rope in new faces for most of the characters. “However, there is one character, that of a retired army officer, and we are planning on casting a well-known actor in this role,” adds Sameer, who is also producing the director’s second film, titled Sathiya Sodhanai, which stars
Premgi Amaren in the lead role.
RV Saran, who has shot both the films of Suresh Sangaiah, will be the cinematographer of this one, too. The film will go on floors on February 1 in a village near Aruppukottai.
