Malavika Mohanan to replace Rashmika Mandanna in 'Chiyaan 61'; shooting begins in Kadapa

Chiyaan Vikram has joined hands with director Pa Ranjith for a mega-budget action drama, and the film is tentatively titled 'Chiyaan 61'. Now, the latest report suggests that Malavika Mohanan is replacing Rashmika Mandanna in 'Chiyaan 61'. Rashmika Mandanna was said to be playing the female lead in 'Chiyaan 61' initially, but the busy actress wasn't able to be part of the film due to a clash in the shooting days with her earlier signed films.So, Rashmika Mandanna stepped out of the project, and the makers' roped in Malavika Mohanan to play the female lead in 'Chiyaan 61'.
After romancing Sasikumar, Vijay, and Dhanush in respective films, Malavika Mohanan will be seen romancing Chiyaan Vikram in her fourth Tamil film, and she will be shooting for the film soon. The shooting of 'Chiyaan 61' begins today in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh, and the team will be shooting some initial portions of the film. Chiyaan Vikram recently finalized his look for the film, and the look test happened in Chennai.
'Chiyaan 61' will be shot in 2D and 3D, and the film will also be made in multiple languages along with Tamil and Hindi to have a grand Pan-Indian release. The action drama set in Kolar gold fields will be happening in the pre-independence period, and the film's story has nothing to do with the blockbuster 'KGF' starring Yash. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for the film, and the film is expected to arrive in theatres in the second half of 2023.
