Did Sathish Krishnan receive the National Award instead of Jani Master?

The 70th National Film Awards ceremony happened in Delhi yesterday (Oct 8) evening, while winners from across the industries received their honor from President Draupadi Murmu. Several stars from Kollywood including Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman, Nithya Menen, Arivumani, and others received their respective awards. But it's Sathish Krishnan, who grabbed the attention of the audience through his entry at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony. Jani Master was announced the Best Choreographer for 'Megham Karukatha' in Dhanush and Nithya Menen's 'Thiruchitrambalam'. But since Jani Master has been arrested under POSCO following a harassment complaint by his assistant and the I&B ministry dismissed the National Award for the former due to the allegation. So, the Best Choreography at the 70th National Film Awards went to Sathish Krishnan, who choreographed 'Megham Karukatha' along with Jani Master.
Previously it was a joint Best Choreography award for Jani and Sathish Krishnan at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony. But Sathish Krishnan became a solo awardee after Jani was dismissed by the ministry. It is worth mentioning that Sathish Krishnan also choreographed the song 'Thaai Kelavi' in 'Thiruchitrambalam'. Sathish Krishnan has been expressing his happiness and gratitude over his first-ever National Award through his Instagram story, and he receives wishes from fans and friends.
After shining as an actor and choreographer, Sathish Krishnan is preparing to make his directorial debut, and the film featuring Kavin and Preethi Asrani in the lead roles is under production. The upcoming film is reported to be a romantic drama, and Sathish aims to make a strong debut.
