Actor
Prakash Raj has lent his support to
Sruthi Hariharan, who called out actor
Arjun for sexually harassing her. Sruthi has been viciously targeted by trolls on social media ever since, with many questioning her claims.
While referring to Arjun as the “pride of Kannada cinema”, Prakash Raj said, “We should understand the helplessness, humiliation and pain that Sruthi has gone through alone all these days.
Even as Arjun has denied allegations, there is nothing wrong in seeking an apology for his behaviour at that time. It will show him as magnanimous.”
“Knowingly or unknowingly, we, men, have failed to understand the sensitivenes of the needs of women since time immemorial. And it’s equally true that even women have been oblivious to their rights. Hopefully, the #MeToo movement will end the helplessness, humiliation and harassment that women have faced for centuries. I support Sruthi Hariharan and other women who have faced harassment,” he added.
