Having made a mark on the small screen, actor
Skanda Ashok, last seen in Flat #9, has finally broken into films with the uniquely titled film Barbarika directed by newbie Shandilya. It has
Siri Raju as the female lead. The father also welcomes this time to connect with his daughter.
“Barbarika, a son of Ghatotkacha was a powerful warrior in the Mahabharata with the ability to single-handedly win a war with just three arrows.
He had the best view of Kurukshetra,” Skanda Ashok explains.
Excited, he adds, “I play supari killer Benki who has diverse shades. I have not tried this in Sandalwood before. His life transforms by meeting good people. Working with Siri Raju, my friend and actor Sagar Biligowda’s wife, was fun, she is a thorough professional.”
Known for his stint on TV with Radha Ramana, Skanda now wants to concentrate on films. “I have been getting telly offers, but they demand time. I have a little daughter who is two-and-half-years old now. I don’t want to miss this wonderful phase in her life and thus have not accepted,” he adds.
With Bhairadevi in the works, Skanda will vacay in
Europe this May.
