I want my film to be as impactful as Mungaru Male: Yogaraj Bhat
In 2006, Mungaru Male redefined romantic dramas in Kannada cinema, becoming a cult classic. Years after its release, Yogaraj Bhat, the film’s director, is now looking to not just recreate, but surpass that impact with his upcoming film Manada Kadalu. “I hope Manada Kadalu also becomes a major landmark film in Kannada cinema. I truly believe it will be the new Mungaru Male,” he says. At a time when the film industry is grappling with shifting audience habits, Yogaraj Bhat is confident that his upcoming film will draw audiences back to theaters. “I feel this film and its climax, has been made in such a way that it will bring back viewers to theatres,” he says.
He shares, “The film a compelling coming-of-age triangular story of characters in their 20s that takes audiences on an emotional and transformative journey.”
