When Hrithik Roshan recalled Sussanne Khan's advice before his kissing scene with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Dhoom 2’
In 2006, ‘Dhoom 2’ became a blockbuster in Bollywood, known for its thrilling action scenes and star-studded cast. However, one moment in the film sparked a major controversy, the on-screen kiss between Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Hrithik had once spoken about the controversy surrounding it.
Before Hrithik filmed the intimate scene, his then-wife, Sussanne Khan, gave him a rather unusual piece of advice. Recalling the moment in an old interview with Headlines Today, Hrithik said, “My wife had laid down only one condition—‘If you’re going to kiss on screen, this better be the best bloody kiss in the entire world!’ That was her only pre-condition. And it was a challenge I had to live up to!”

On the other hand, for Aishwarya, the kissing scene led to unexpected trouble. In a 2012 interview with the Daily Mail, she revealed that she had received legal notices from people who felt the scene did not align with her image. She said, “I did it once prominently in the movie ‘Dhoom’ and it was so topical, and you’ll be surprised, I mean I got a couple of notices, legal notices, from some people in the country turning around and saying ‘You are iconic, you’re an example to our girls, you have led your life in such an exemplary manner, they’re not comfortable with you doing this on screen, so why did you?’”

‘Dhoom 2’ was a massive success. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film starred Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, and Bipasha Basu. As per Sacnilk, it earned over Rs 147.90 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2006. On the work front, Hrithik will be seen in 'War 2’ featuring Kiara Advani and Jr NTR.
