Saandesh Nayak: I want to revive the kind of films Amol Palekar did

Debutant director Saandesh Nayak, who has helmed the upcoming romcom 'Love Shagun,' considers Raj Kapoor as his role model.

Like the showman of Hindi cinema, he too wants to explore various aspects of filmmaking. Saandesh, who has acted in TV serials and films, says, 'Raj Kapoor was multitalented. I'm hugely inspired by him. I moved to Mumbai from Bhopal in 1996 and acted in Josh.When I wrote 'Love Shagun,' Shreyas (Talpade) advised me to direct it.'
Explaining why he chose relationships as the theme of his directorial venture, he states, 'I want to revive the kind of films Amol Palekar did. Today, the world has become fickle. Relationships are falling apart and the digital era has changed our lives. It was an enjoyable experience for me to make a film, which addresses such issues in society.'
'Love Shagun,' produced by Saanvi Nayak Films, releases on February 26, 2016.
