Aayush Sharma comes from an affluent political family and is the grandson of veteran Congress politician Pandit Sukh Ram of Mandi.
He recounted the moment when he introduced Arpita to his parents and revealed his intention to marry her. His parents reacted with shock, expressing skepticism about the union due to Arpita’s different background and economic status.
His father questioned how Aayush would manage Arpita’s expenses given that he wasn't earning money at the time. Aayush Sharma's response surprised his parents: "Main nai uthaunga, aap uthaoge na?" (You will finance this right?) His father reacted humorously to the statement, asking, "Shaadi tune kiya, pyaar tune kiya, bill mai bharu?" (You will get married, you fell in love, and I should pay the bill?)
While his father took the news relatively well, his mother expressed concerns about whether the families would get along, given the differing backgrounds of the two families. Nonetheless, Sharma managed to convince his parents and introduced them to the Khans. His mother was impressed upon meeting Salman Khan, remarking, "Yeh to bohot good looking hai" (He is so good-looking).
The two families bonded well, with Aayush stating that his family appreciated the Khans' values. When his father asked Arpita if she would move to Mandi, a region in Himachal Pradesh, if the situation arose, Salman Khan reassured him, saying, "Wherever Aayush decides to go, Arpita will follow him. You don’t worry about it."
Aayush Sharma and Arpita Khan tied the knot in 2014 and are now proud parents of two children, daughter Ayat and son Ahil Sharma.
