'Lucknow Central' box-office collection week 1: Farhan Akhtar-Diana Penty starrer film earns Rs 10.75 crore

Directed by debutant Ranjit Tiwari, 'Lucknow Central' is inspired by the true story of convicts sentenced to imprisonment at the Lucknow Central Jail, who start a band. The film earned Rs 10.75 crore in its first week. After having a lukewarm opening on Friday with Rs 1.74 crore followed by Rs 2.65 crore and Rs 3 crore on Saturday and Sunday, the collections dipped.
'Lucknow Central' is set against the backdrop of a jail, where Farhan plays the role of a prisoner, aspiring to be a Bhojpuri singer.The film also features Diana, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles.
