The chandelier lights were dimmed and you got that heavenly feeling as Satish Gupta’s artistic and cosmic journey down the years was brought alive at a SoBo hotel on Thursday.
It was the celebration of his book titled ‘Centering Awareness’ presented by Gallery Art and Soul with a gentle reading by Anil Dharker caressed by the soft sounds of the flute played by Suraj Joshi.After the rich and resonant reading, it was time for the formal launch by Union Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel.
Gallery owner Tarana Khubchandani looked cheerful as she said hello to the merry mix of guests — from Bollywood’s Suniel Shetty (with wife Mana), to artists Subhash Awchat, Brinda Chudasama-Miller, Papri Bose, art lovers Pheroza Godrej, Sarayu Doshi and Bakul Patel.
Sitting quietly in a corner was Janet Fine while Dolly Thakore flitted across the room as did Samir and Palak Sheth. Sharing in the joy of Satish Gupta was his wife Amita and son Ananda.
Hosting the artistic and bookish proceedings was Divya Palat. Guests were seen leafing through the pages of the book, sipping champagne and having a bite of the hors d’oeuvres.
