Rituparna Sengupta is heartbroken at actor Inder Kumar's death
The film industry woke up to the shocking news of actor Inder Kumar of Wanted fame passing away following a heart attack at his residence in Andheri, Mumbai, early on Friday morning. Rituparna Sengupta, who had worked with Kumar in two movies, was deeply saddened at the actor’s demise.
“I’m shocked. I have worked with him in
Tirchi Topi Wale
many years back and more recently, in Haranath Chakraborty’s
Dharasnan
. I am having trouble believing that he left us all so soon.

I called his cousin Jatin to offer my condolences. He said that Inder was healthy till last night except for mild fever. He suffered a massive heart attack and collapsed on the way to the hospital. Life is so fickle. Such a young and talented actor left us so soon,” the actress said.

Remembering the actor, Ritu further added, “Not many people know that he had roots in Kolkata. He was from Baguihati. He was an extremely sweet and amicable man. I remember him talking to me in broken Bengali. He would ask me, ‘Amar Bangla ta thik holo?’ and I'd laugh. I convinced him for
Dharasnan
. I told him it’s an interesting script and he should take it up. He kept his word and came down to Kolkata to shoot the film. I remember he had an accident of the sets of Partho Ghosh’s
Maseeha
while shooting an action sequence. He fell off from a chopper and was bedridden for months. But he bounced back stronger. Wish he had survived this one too. He also shared a good relationship with Salman Khan, with whom he had shared screen space in Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge. He used to talk fondly about him.”
Ritu lamented that too many film personalities passed away this year. "It's been a bad year. So many artistes have left us.”
