Niharica Raizada's item number in Damadol

Manoj Michigan's new film 'Damadol' (his last film 'Hello Kolkata' was made in 2008) is a situational comedy about three guys who are out of college. This laugh riot is all about three guys, their love lives and how a character called 'Pappu Bhai' comes into their life by chance as a result of which there is a case of mistaken identity and complete pandemonium all around.
The film is for the young crowd, but is also ideal for all ages as everyone will love it. The director has chosen a relatively young star cast which comprises of Samadarshi Dutta, Rajdeep Gupta, Saheb Bhattacharya, Priyanka, newcomers Anindita Banerjee, Gunjan Daryanani and Sam. Saswata Chatterjee plays the part of 'Pappu Bhai' here.
The film is being directed by Manoj Michigan and being produced by Ajay Jhunjhunwala. The music is mainly by Gourabh Chatterjee though a couple of more names are also associated with a few songs while the lyrics are by Srijato and Rana Basu Thakur. Sayak, Dibyendu and Suyasha Sengupta have sung for the film among others. The cinematographer is Supriyo Dutta while the editor is Atish Dey Sarkar.The shooting phase of the film is in its absolute last stage.
In fact, the second last day of shooting of this film took place at Bharat Lakshmi Studio in the form of an item number which was performed by Niharica Raizada. She is an ex Miss India Worldwide winner as well as an ex Miss India UK in the past. She is also an qualified doctor (in stem cell research no less!) and trained dancer in Bharatnatyam and ballet. She also happens to be the grand daughter of legendary music composer from Bollywood, O.P.Nayyar. Well, since her grandfather still makes us hum his tunes from time to time, it seems to us that she will make dance to her numbers in the immediate future!
