Born of a Bengali mother in Kolkata but a resident of Mumbai since his high-school days,
Indrajit Nattoji is a man of multiple talents. The Kolkata-born filmmaker’s last directorial ‘Aafat-e-Ishq’ with
Deepak Dobriyal in the lead had received appreciation from all corners. Now, during a recent chat with ETimes, the filmmaker-painter recalled working with the versatile actor and also insisted that he wishes to work with
Deepak again.
Indrajit shares as the director of ‘Aafat-e-Ishq’ he had the extraordinary privilege of witnessing the singular talent of Deepak Dobriyal. “His unmatched ability to embody and bring characters to life is truly awe-inspiring. When the camera started rolling, Deepak seamlessly disappeared, and in his place emerged Sub Inspector Vikram, a sharp yet reticent sleuth deeply in love with his beautiful and traumatized landlady. We had an incredible time creating Vikram's story and universe and exploring the depths of the character. Deepak's dedication to understanding the essence of the character was unparalleled as we crafted Vikram's backstories, intentions, and motivations. Deepak’s remarkable talent and transformation made it feel like the protagonist had leaped off the pages of my script and come alive before our eyes," said Indrajit as he spoke about Deepak Dobriyal’s extraordinary talent.
While speaking about writing a story for Deepak Dobriyal he further added, "I would love to see Deepak as the lead in an action-thriller-revenge story, a concept that has been brewing for some time now."
On praising Deepak, he said, "Deepak's versatility knows no bounds. Whether it's his impeccable comedic timing in ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, his riveting dramatic performances in ‘Bhola’, or the captivating nuances he brought to ‘Aafat-e-Ishq’, Deepak flawlessly navigates the intricacies of each role, leaving an indelible mark on the audience. As the director of ‘Aafat-e-Ishq’, I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to collaborate with such an exceptional actor."
