Delhi Police arrested Vishal, also known as Katia, a 25-year-old man, for allegedly demanding Rs 13 crore from a 24-year-old Delhi-based YouTuber. The complainant reported receiving threatening calls on April 9, demanding extortion money or face death. Vishal, aware of the YouTuber's wife's property inheritance, was apprehended within 24 hours near Nirmal Vatika in Bawana.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly attempting to extort Rs 13 crore from a local YouTuber by making threatening phone calls. The accused, identified as Vishal alias Katia, was apprehended within 24 hours of the complaint being filed at Bawana Police Station.
The 24-year-old victim, who runs a YouTube channel, received multiple calls from an unknown number on April 9 while in Bawana's Sector-1. The caller threatened to kill him if the extortion demand was not met.
During the calls, the accused demonstrated knowledge about property inheritance received by the YouTuber's wife, specifically mentioning her share of land worth several crores.
The situation escalated during the fifth call when the caller became aggressive and threatened dire consequences if the demanded sum of Rs 13 crore was not paid.
Police quickly traced and arrested Vishal near Nirmal Vatika in Bawana. The mobile phone used to make the extortion calls was recovered from his possession.
Authorities revealed that Vishal, a resident of Bawana, had a previous criminal record with one case registered against him.
The case was registered at Bawana Police Station following the YouTuber's complaint about the threatening calls and extortion attempt.
