TIRUVANNAMALAI: Four people died when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus near
Tiruvannamalai on Sunday.
Police said a group of four people, identified as Sailesh, Sathish Kumar, Stalin, and Charush, were returning to their hometown, Puducherry, in an SUV after visiting Bengaluru at 2:30 am.
on Sunday, when they crossed So Kattukulam near Tiruvannamalai on the Chennai-Tiruvannamalai national highway, their car collided head-on with a TNSTC bus coming from the opposite direction.
The four people from Puducherry were crushed to death on the spot in the accident.
The front portion of the car was completely ripped off in the impact. The bodies of the four people got entangled in the mangled remains of the accident.
A team from Keezhpennaiyur police station and a national highways patrol team reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examinations to Tiruvannamalai govt medical college and hospital. Keezhpennaiyur police registered a case and began an investigation.
