Mercedes-Benz India launched the GLB seven-seat SUV back in December 2022. Now, the company has discontinued the model as all units imported into the country have sold out. The GLB was Mercedes’ entry-level 7-seat SUV and was christened as the baby GLS with squared‑off styling. It was bought to India via CBU route with only a limited allocation for the Indian market.

It was offered in three variants namely, 200, 220d and 220d 4 Matic priced between Rs 63.80 lakh to Rs 69.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It was offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine produces 163 hp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The 2.0-litre diesel engine comes in two variants, one of them being the AMG Line. This produces 190 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission choices included the 7-speed automatic on the petrol and the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic on the diesel.

Features wise, the GLB gets a 10.25-inch floating MBUX infotainment system, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, connected car tech, and smartphone connectivity. Safety features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and ADAS features.
