Vipin Vijay, a filmmaker from Kerala, won the 'Incredible India Development' award for his film project 'Chavunilum,' A Voice From Elsewhere, at the Film Bazaar organized by National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) as part of the ongoing international film festival of India (Iffi).

Seven projects have been selected for the work-in-progress lab of the tenth edition of Film Bazaar, that will be held on the side lines of the 47th international film festival of India (Iffi) in Goa.

The sixth edition of National Film Development Cooperation's (NFDC's) four-day film bazaar concluded on Saturday in a hotel at Panaji.

Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the 10th international documentary and short film festival, Kerala ( IDSFFK) at Kairali theatre at 6 pm on Friday. Minister for film and culture A K Balan will be present on the occasion. ‘Life Animated` by Roger Ross Williams, which was nominated for Academy Awards and ‘Sakhisona’ directed by Prantik Basu, which won one of the three Tiger awards at 46th international film festival Rotterdam, will be screened as the opening movies.

Across 5 days of back-to-back cinema, a host of out-of-the-box films will be screened that re-defines the language of cinema, spanning across narrative, aesthetic, and technological domains. The festival aims to bridge the gap between central and peripheral practices in contemporary art and create an intimate network with the local makers and audience.

Films from foreign film-makers like Simon Chambers (UK), Roz Mortimer and Meena Nanji (USA), Nadia Kamel (Egypt), Kesang Tseten (Nepal), Yasmine Kabir (Bangladesh) and Farjad Nabi (Pakistan) will also be screened.

NEW DELHI: Haimanti Banerjee's Balgandharva will be the inaugural film of the non-feature film category of the panorama section of the 32nd International Film Festival of India(IFFI), 2001, to be held in Bangalore this October.

A total of 16 films will be screened in the non-feature film category in the Indian Panorama section at the 44th International Film Festival of India (IFFI)-2013

The programme will be held in various cities across the state and will kick off with screenings in the capital city.

PUNE: It looks like the annual documentary film festival, 'Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2004' scheduled for February 2004 in Mumbai, is reeling into trouble. Approximately 180-odd documentary filmmakers from the country have decided to boycott the much-awaited festival, owing to the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry's decision of censoring all the Indian documentary films entering MIFF 2004.

"This is my twelfth movie, and fortunately I have a very good distributor this time for a much better reach than that my earlier ones could garner.

It offers an eclectic assortment of documentary films that highlight politics in different aspects of our day-to-day life.
