As the Columbus Blue Jackets completed an improbably inspiring 2024–25 NHL season, Johnny Gaudreau's wife, Meredith Gaudreau, took to Instagram with words about the season-ending documentary for the team. Her three-word statement on her Instagram story, "So much love ❤️," encapsulated the rollercoaster of emotions that the franchise went through from tragedy to glory. Meredith's tweet, posted through @meredithgaudreau_ on Instagram, captured the hearts of followers who saw the team build up from heartbreak and perseverance.

Columbus Blue Jackets finish strong with statement win over Islanders

The season, starting with the unexpected death of Johnny Gaudreau, pushed the Blue Jackets hard early. But instead of quitting, Columbus rallied—finishing the year just short of a playoff spot and capturing hearts around the league.
Thursday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets ended their season on a high note with a 6–1 thrashing of the New York Islanders. Goaltender Jet Greaves was stout with 36 saves, one short of his third consecutive shutout.
Defenseman Zachary Werenski's performance added another historic layer to the evening—his assist brought his season total to 59, tying Artemi Panarin’s franchise record and making him the first defenseman to lead the Blue Jackets in scoring with 82 points.
Meredith Gaudreau appreciated and showed support to the team, serving as a reminder of Johnny's legacy. She recently gave birth to her third child with Johnny, Carter Michael Gaudreau, born on April 1st.

An emotional journey ends with pride, not regret

The Columbus Blue Jackets weren't meant to be in the hunt this year. Projected by most to be toward the bottom of the NHL standings, they instead battled their way to 89 points—fourth in the Metropolitan Division and just out of the final Eastern Conference wild-card berth, which went to the Montreal Canadiens.
Their six-game winning streak to end the season tied a franchise home point record (57) and was their season high in goals with 267. The New York Islanders, on the other hand, collapsed late and finished sixth in the division with 82 points.
