“It’s a crazy number”: Pete Alonso shares dream to hit 500 home runs milestone

Just like every athlete in the MLB, Pete Alonso has set for himself many milestones, which the New York Mets star aims to fulfill soon. Recently, Alonso opened up about one such milestone to hit at least a total of 500 home runs. Here’s everything on Alonso’s big dream:
On Thursday, the Newsday released an interview with Pete Alonso, during which the New York Mets star talked about his dream of hitting 500 home runs. If Alonso succeeds in achieving this goal, he would just be inches away from the Hall of Fame prestige. Talking about the details into his goal, Alonso said:
“It’s a crazy number to think about. but it’s something I for sure want to do. And hopefully hit way more than that. As a player, all of us are fans. It’s like, OK, this is cool to think about, but you can’t be a fan for too long. Cool thought, and then all right, tomorrow go back to work and do whatever you can to get yourself ready to perform.”
Pete Alonso was the talk of the talk throughout the offseason, due to his free agency struggles. However, the Mets ended the re-signing drama by acquiring Alonso for a $54 Million deal. During an interview with MLB.com, Alonso explained that:
“I always felt that things would work out the way they were supposed to. That I’d end up where I was supposed to be. All along, I felt as if that was back in New York and back with the Mets. In the end, that’s the way things did work out. I’m a pretty patient person."
Pete Alonso’s abilities as a hitter is definitely impressive and something that he has often been praised about. Recently, the Mets star Eric Chavez praised Alonso for his outstanding swing transformation. Before that, Alonso proved his skills to the fans by showcasing a dominant form early on in the spring training.
Not just players but David Stearns has been quite fond of Alonso, as he previously talked about the winning mentality of him, heading into the regular season.
