Tilak Varma is the new batter in for India and he is quickly into the act. Having defended the first confidently, he goes after a short delivery for a four towards backward point. Next one, less of a confident stroke but it goes over the third man fence for a six!

It hasn't taken much for South Africa to get their first wicket of the day. After getting plenty of bounce on the first ball, this one from Jansen stays low and beats Samson. He isn't able to get his bat down in time and goes back after a two-ball duck

Ramandeep Singh is 27 years and is an all-rounder who bowls right arm medium and is a middle-order batter. The Punjab player has played 20 matches in the IPL for MI and KKR - five of those came for Mumbai and 15 for Kolkata.

His latest outings came for India A at the Emerging Teams Asia Cup where he scored 94 runs and took three wickets across four matches.

VVS Laxman hands the cap to Hardik Pandya and he passes it along to all-rounder Ramandeep Singh who will make his India debut.

Abhishek Sharma had a staggering start to international cricket with a century. He scored a century in Zimbabwe but his aggressive batting style and ability to take the game away from the opposition early on has come under question recently. He's struggled to breach the 20-run mark off late and has had three straight innings of single digit scores.

Is this do-or-die moment for him? Remains to be seen.

Arshdeep Singh on Jasprit Bumrah's role in his growth: "I've had a really good bowling partner in Jassi bhai. He has helped me enormously in taking a lot of wickets by creating pressure from the other end. So a lot of credit goes to him as well. But the main thing is how well I can adapt to the conditions and the situations of the game, how I can attack the batsman early on and take some early wickets. And even at the death how I can outsmart them and bring the game back into our hands."

Varun Chakaravarthy on the guidance he received from Gautam Gambhir, his mentor at KKR, on his comeback to the national team.

“Yes, we played the Bangladesh tour, and he was coaching the team. We definitely spoke a lot, and he gave me a lot of role clarity,” Chakaravarthy said.

“He told me, even if you go for 30-40 runs, it doesn’t matter. All you have to focus on is picking wickets. That’s your role in the team. And yes, the clarity he provided definitely helped me,” he added.

South Africa allrounder Marco Jansen: "Everyone on the team hates losing. In the first game, we didn't play at our best, if we can call it as it is. And then the second game, the whole focus was just to try and give us the best chance to win. In the second game, we were a lot more focused on winning those small battles because in T20 two or three overs is actually [significant], there's a lot that can happen. So for us, it was just a focus point in terms of just trying to win those small battles. And I think we won most of the small battles, even though it was a low-scoring game."

Varun Chakaravarthy has taken eight wickets in two matches and with two remaining, has a great chance of going past the Indian record of most wickets in a bilateral T20I series of nine, held jointly by R Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi

India's record at Centurion: Only one T20I played, back in 2018, against South Africa. On that day India batted first and scored 188/4 with Manish Pandey scoring 79 from 48 balls and MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 52 from 28 balls. In response, South Africa reached the target with 8 balls to spare. Heinrich Klaasen (69) and JP Duminy (64) were among the runs

Centurion was the setting for two thrilling high-scoring T20Is within just two days last year. In the first match, South Africa dominated, scoring 131 runs in a rain-affected, 11-over contest, only for the West Indies to chase down that target with three balls remaining.

In a remarkable turnaround, South Africa exacted revenge in the next encounter, with Quinton de Kock smashing a rapid 100 off 44 balls, leading the team to chase down a whopping 259 runs in just 18.5 overs, setting a new record for the highest T20I chase.

So, expect plenty of runs again, but the venue’s steep bounce could also favour fast bowlers if the surface provides some assistance. The weather is forecasted to be clear and pleasant.
