Maha Kumbh Mela holds a deep significance in Hindu Scriptures, the Maha Kumbh Mela is regarded as a chance for followers to achieve Moksha, or salvation and they can get liberation from the cycle of birth and death. This chance is very rare to get and only fortunate people get an opportunity to take a holy bath in Ganga river at that time as this time period is considered extremely auspicious and sacred. During this time period, all the saints and pious ascetics come and attend this ceremonial bath, which is known as Shahi Snan.   • Shahi Snan (Royal Bath): Naga sadhus and other respected saints lead a ceremonial dip in the sacred rivers. It is said that doing this will atone for sins and grant spiritual merit.
  • Meditation and Yog: In order to achieve mental and physical tranquility, many pilgrims engage in yoga and meditation practices.
  • Mantra Chanting: Many devotees come to that sacred place and near Ganga Ghats, they chant various Vedic Mantras to cleanse their soul, mind and body.
  • Hymn and Prayer: Reciting hymns and prayers during that time holds a special significance and devotees come in groups and they honor the Lord by reciting prayers.
  • Taking Bath: Taking a holy dip in Ganga river is one of the main ritual which devotees perform and it is considered highly meritorious when people take bath in the sacred river Ganga specially during Maha Kumbh Mela.
