The Rebel star Prabhas faced an ankle injury while filming for his upcoming project. The injury has forced him to miss the premiere of his latest film, 'Kalki 2898 AD', in Japan, which is set to release on January 3, 2025.
The film directed by Nag Ashwin has been a massive success at the box office, and its premiere in Japan is highly anticipated. Prabhas expressed his disappointment in a statement on social media, thanking fans for their support and love for both him and the film.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) in a statement which loosely translated to English states, "Thank you for showering so much love on me and my work. I had been looking forward to going to Japan for a long time. However, I am very sorry to say that I sprained my ankle during filming and was unable to attend. Our distributor Twin has been very supportive and we are getting for all their effort getting Kalki 2898 AD' ready for release on Friday, January 3rd. I hope to see you soon. Prabhas."
Prabhas conveyed his regret, stating that he hoped fans would enjoy 'Kalki 2898 AD' despite his absence. To ensure that the event still has a strong presence, director Nag Ashwin will attend the premiere in place of Prabhas.
'Kalki 2898 AD', directed by Nag Ashwin features a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. The film is a mytho-science fiction and has already achieved remarkable success since its release.
Currently, Darling is shooting for his upcoming films, including Hanu Raghavapudi's war drama which is rumoured to be called 'Fauji', which is expected to be released in late 2025. Additionally, he has several other films lined up, including a sequel to 'Salaar Part 2' and 'Kalki: Part 2'. Furthermore, he has also joined hands with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's cop drama film 'Spirit'.
