Nani will be next seen in the upcoming action thriller 'HIT: Part 3', directed by
Sailesh Kolanu and will be donning the uniform of the intense cop Arjun Sarkar, who doesn't play by the rules. Nani, who is also producing the film, recently shared how his role as Arjun Sarkar came about.
Arjun Sarkar was not part of the original plan
In an interview with Great Andhra, he revealed that while working on 'HIT 2', the story for the third film wasn't even ready. Director Sailesh Kolanu suggested adding a high-impact cameo in the climax to build the HIT universe, and Nani agreed to step in as Arjun Sarkar, feeling a sense of responsibility as producer.
"A great opportunity to build the HIT universe"
He said, "Director Sailesh asked me if we could add a high moment in the climax, either with me or another actor in a cameo. As we were building the 'HIT' universe, it seemed like a great opportunity to have another actor make an appearance."
A gap in schedule turned a cameo into a lead role
He further shared shared though he hadn't planned to lead a third film due to other commitments, a sudden gap in his schedule allowed him to take on the role when the story for 'HIT 3' was finalized.
The trailer, which was released earlier, includes raw action and violence and has drawn comparisons to recent films like Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' and Unni Mukundan's 'Marco'. However, Nani was quick to clarify at the trailer launch that 'HIT 3' is different. He explained that the film follows a unique narrative style, and the violence is integral to the story rather than being gratuitous. He assured fans that once they watch the film, the intensity will feel justified and natural, rather than excessive or out of place.
The trailer opens with the chilling abduction of a nine-month-old baby, a case that Arjun Sarkar takes personally, launching him into a relentless and violent pursuit of justice. Nani’s character is seen declaring that criminals deserve only two fates: a 10-foot cell or a 6-foot grave.
'HIT 3' also stars
Srinidhi Shetty, known for her role in 'KGF', as Arjun’s love interest.
The film is set to hit theaters on May 1.
