Megastar Chiranjeevi's 2006 action-drama 'Stalin' is all set to make a grand comeback to cinemas, much to the delight of his fans. Helmed by renowned director AR Murugadoss, the film holds a special place in Telugu cinema, not just for its star-studded cast but also for its compelling message.
According to a 123Telugu report, the film is currently undergoing an extensive restoration, with work underway to convert it into an 8K version for a visually enhanced re-release. If all goes as planned, audiences can expect to watch the upgraded 'Stalin' on the big screen by mid-June.
The film features Chiranjeevi as Major Stalin, a former Indian Army officer whose life mission is to help others and inspire a culture of kindness. After leaving the army due to a conflict with his superior, Stalin dedicates himself to improving society. He introduces a unique "help three people" chain system, encouraging everyone to assist others and ask them to pay it forward by helping three more. While his idea faces initial setbacks, a series of dramatic events including clashes with a powerful home minister and personal sacrifices ultimately prove the impact of his philosophy.
Trisha plays Chitra, the female lead, marking one of her memorable collaborations with Chiranjeevi. The cast also includes Prakash Raj as the antagonist Home Minister Muddu Krishnayya, Sharada as Stalin’s mother, Khushboo Sundar as Stalin's sister Jhansi, and a host of other talented actors like Pradeep Rawat, Brahmanandam, and Sunil. The film's music, composed by Mani Sharma, features a popular soundtrack.
The movie was later remade in Bollywood starring Salman Khan with the name, 'Jai Ho'.
On the current work front, Chiranjeevi will be next seen upcoming mega socio-fantasy film, 'Vishwambhara' directed by Mallidi Vassishta.
